Oracle Cloud Storage - Overview

Oracle Cloud Storage is a storage platform that provides high-performance object and file storage services and offers excellent scalability, data availability, durability, and security. It allows you to store objects and access any amount of data instantly from anywhere and is ideal for storing unlimited amount of unstructured data such as images, media files, logs, backups, etc.

Monitored Parameters

Go to the Monitors Category View by clicking the Monitors tab. Click on the Storage instance available under Oracle Cloud in the Cloud Apps section. Displayed is the Oracle Cloud Storage bulk configuration view distributed into three tabs:

  • Availability tab gives the availability history for the past 24 hours or 30 days.
  • Performance tab gives the health status and events for the past 24 hours or 30 days.
  • List view enables you to perform bulk admin configurations.

By clicking a monitor from the list, you'll be taken to the Oracle Cloud Storage dashboard. It has 4 tabs:

ParameterDescription
NUMBER OF OBJECTS:
Number of ObjectsThe number of objects present in the Oracle Storage instance.
BUCKET SIZE:
Bucket SizeThe size of the bucket (in GB).
TOTAL REQUESTS:
Total RequestsThe total number of requests processed by the bucket.
Total Requests/MinThe total number of requests processed by the bucket per minute.
LATENCY:
First Byte Latency TimeThe per-request time measured from the time Object Storage receives the complete request to when Object Storage returns the first byte of the response (in ms).
Overall Latency TimeThe per-request time from the first byte received by Object Storage to the last byte sent from Object Storage (in ms).
ERRORS:
Client Side Error CountThe total number of client-side errors made in the bucket.
INCOMPLETE MULTIPART UPLOAD SIZE:
Incomplete Multipart Upload SizeThe size of any multipart upload parts that have not been discarded (aborted) or committed (in MB).

GetObject Request CountThe total number of Get object requests made in a bucket.
HeadObject Request CountThe total number of Head object requests made in a bucket.
ListObjects Request CountThe total number of List object requests made in a bucket.
WRITE REQUESTS:
DeleteObject Request CountThe total number of Delete object requests made in a bucket.
PutObject Request CountThe total number of Put object requests made in a bucket.
RenameObject Request CountThe total number of Rename object requests made in a bucket.
PostObject Request CountThe total number of Post object requests made in a bucket.
CopyObject Request CountThe total number of Copy object requests made in a bucket.
ArchiveObject Request CountThe total number of Archive object requests made in a bucket. To archive objects, you must configure an Object Lifecycle policy. 
REQUESTS THROUGHPUT:
Get Requests/MinThe number of Get request made per minute.
Put Requests/MinThe number of Put request made per minute.

Top Objects by Size:
Object Name (Top)Name of the object that is of higher size.
Top Object SizeSize of the object that is of higher size (in MB).
Created Time (Top)Time at which the object of higher size was created.
Recently Uploaded Objects:
Object Name (Recent)Name of the object that was recently uploaded.
Recently Uploaded Object SizeSize of the object that was recently uploaded (in MB).
Created Time (Recent)Time at which the recently-uploaded object was created.
Category Wise Details:
CategoryCategory of the object.
Objects CountNumber of objects available in that category.
Category SizeTotal size of objects available in that category (in MB).

Configuration

ParameterDescription
BUCKET INFORMATION:
Compartment NameName of the compartment.
RegionRegion where the bucket is located.
Storage TierThe storage tier of the bucket.
Created TimeThe date and time at which the bucket was created.
VisibilityDenotes the visibility assigned to the bucket.
Object Level Audit ModeSpecifies whether the audit logs are enabled for the objects in the bucket.
Entity TagThe Entity Tag (or ETag) header value assigned to the bucket.
