Advisories are authoritative security notifications published by CERTs, government agencies, software vendors, and cybersecurity organizations to disclose newly discovered vulnerabilities, ongoing exploit campaigns, emerging threats, and remediation guidance. These advisories play a critical role in vulnerability prioritization by providing real-world threat context, exploit availability, severity indicators, and active exploitation status. By correlating vulnerabilities with trusted advisories, organizations can distinguish high-risk exposures from lower-priority issues, accelerate remediation of critical threats, and make informed, risk-based security decisions to strengthen their overall security posture.
In general, these advisories are used for:
They are commonly referenced in vulnerability management, patch management, and SOC/SIEM workflows. Endpoint Central can correlate and display advisories from the following sources:
To view advisory details, navigate to Threats → Vulnerabilities. Under the Advisories column corresponding to a vulnerability, you can view the referenced advisories, and for detailed insights, select the vulnerability to open the Vulnerability Insights window. Under Advisory Details, you can view related CERT, CISA, vendor, and other external security advisories associated with the vulnerability, and you can also click the reference links to access the original advisory source directly. You can prioritize the vulnerabilities based on these advisories. To know in detail about vulnerability insights and threat prioritization, refer to this page.
