High Availability Configuration

    High availability (HA) configuration ensures continuous availability of ServiceDesk Plus MSP during disasters or unexpected hardware/software failures. ServiceDesk Plus MSP comes with failover service and disaster recovery to provide continued service hardware or software failure.

     

    Benefits of HA Configuration

    • Minimizes service interruption for end users.

    • Provides quick recovery from hardware or software failure.

    • Prevents data loss during component failures.

     

    Failover Service vs. Disaster Recovery

    Depending on the organization's requirements, administrators can set up high availability for ServiceDesk Plus MSP via failover service or disaster recovery. The differences between the two features are detailed in the following table:

     

    Failover Service

    Disaster Recovery

    Ensures availability of application during hardware or software failure.

    Ensures availability of application when an infrastructure is down due to disasters.

    Servers (primary, secondary, and database) are present in the same region.

    Servers (primary, secondary, and database) are present in different geographical regions.

    When the server is down, the application is made available by connecting to the backup server in the same network.

    When the server is down, the application is made available by connecting to the backup server in a different network.

    Virtual IP address is used to provide access to the application.

    IP address of the server that is running the application is used to access the application.
