How to customize deployment of third party patches?

Description

In SCCM, customize the deployment of third party patches using Patch Connect Plus console and make your deployment changes with ease. Create deployment templates by selecting the required installation options and map the deployment template with third party applications to customize deployment of that application. The customization options for the third-party applications include,

  1. Skipping the deployment process if the application is running
  2. Providing an option to uninstall the superseded patches
  3. Restricting the applications from having a start menu icon
  4. Restricting the applications from having a taskbar icon
  5. Restricting the applications from having a shortcut icon

Steps

Creating Deployment Templates

To create deployment templates follow the steps given below,

  1. Click on Admin Tab and select Customize Deployment.
  2. Select Create Deployment Template.
  3. Specify the Template name and add description.
  4. Under Deployment settings, enable the installation options you require and click Save.

Mapping Deployment Templates

To map deployment templates with the third party applications follow the steps given below,

  1. Select the third party application for which you want to publish patch updates.
  2. Map the application with the deployment template you have created

Based on the deployment options you have enabled, deployment of third party patches will happen.
