MedCode Services, a healthcare-focused IT services company, manages infrastructure across five branches in India—Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Coimbatore, and Kochi. The organization operates in a highly regulated space, requiring strict adherence to industry standards.

Before implementing Log360, MedCode Services IT team struggled with visibility and manual reporting. Logs were scattered, user activity tracking was inconsistent, and auditing took up valuable time. The deployment of Log360 was led by ManageEngine’s onboarding specialist, Anand, who guided MedCode Service's IT team through setup and configuration. His approach was methodical and hands-on, ensuring every log source, from domain controllers to switches and firewalls, was properly onboarded.

Kannan and his team faced a few challenges integrating FortiGate firewalls due to specific port restrictions. Anand coordinated directly with firewall vendors, performed live troubleshooting sessions, and shared documentation to streamline the process. He joined multiple calls with both the customer and vendors until every issue was resolved.

Even after go-live, Anand continued to assist the team during audits and report reviews, earning Kannan’s confidence as a reliable and knowledgeable implementation partner.

Outcomes and improvements

Post-implementation, MedCode Services gained centralized visibility across its IT infrastructure. Log360 now serves as the common monitoring platform for its IT, network, and SOC teams, enabling them to track activity, generate compliance reports, and detect anomalies from a single console.

Weekly and monthly reports on logon/logoff patterns, inactive accounts, and network activity have automated much of the manual audit preparation work. The healthcare organization now easily meets HIPAA and ISMS compliance requirements and maintains a consistent audit trail.

Kannan shared that integration with SonicWall firewalls was smooth, though FortiGate required additional steps. Still, he rated the ease of setup and usability 4 out of 5, noting the dashboards and reports in Log360 are intuitive and effective.

He also highlighted the collaborative benefits of a shared monitoring system: multiple teams now work with the same data, improving coordination and response times.
