Build custom reports for Active Directory

ADManager Plus offers custom reports to give you the flexibility to tailor reports according to your exact requirements and create reports on various aspects of your Active Directory (AD). After all, accurate reports are the key to efficient and effective management. With this feature, you can:

• Define your own Active Directory reports.
• Use filters to narrow down reports to fit your exact requirement.
• Create reports based on the custom attributes in your AD.
• Create reports based on LDAP queries.
• Create OU-based reports.
• Categorize, save, and re-use custom reports.
• Report across multiple domains.

Create custom reports

With ADManager Plus, you can create custom reports using either filters or LDAP queries. To start, provide a suitable name and description for the report. You can report against one or more domains by selecting the required domains in the Select domains section. The Add OUs option allows you to create OU-based reports for more efficient reporting.

From the Conditions section shown in Figure 1, you can create queries for fetching data for the report in the following manner:

• Create filter-based queries by adding conditions on default or custom attributes for users, groups, computers, and contacts.
• Create reports based on your own LDAP query.
• Combine multiple conditions in a query as shown in Figure 2 below.

Select result attributes

Display attributes of your choice using the Select attributes to be displayed in result option. Often the attributes to be displayed in the report might not align with the attributes used in the search and filter. The resulting attributes that are shown in the report are configurable so that the resulting information is tailored for better understanding and analysis.

Organize reports

You can now organize custom reports into various categories to make locating reports easy in the future. Create new categories using the + icon, as shown in the figure below.

Edit reports

Edit existing criteria in a report to meet new requirements using the edit option available beside the report name, as shown in the figure below.

Delete reports

Delete custom reports using the delete icon found beside the report name, as shown in the figure below.

Export reports

Export custom reports in CSV, PDF, XLS, or HTML format as needed, as shown below in the figure below.

Using ADManager Plus' custom reports, you can now create your own AD reports, generate OU-based reports, create reports based on LDAP queries and object attributes, and more. Forget about manipulating reports in spreadsheets with ADManager Plus reporting tool as you can use filters to meet your specific requirements. You can also categorize and save reports for logical access in the future.
