End of Support Specification
End of Support DetailsWe strongly encourage our users to upgrade to the latest version to benefit from the new features, critical bug fixes, enhancements, and the flexibility to opt for special add–ons and plug–ins. After every major release, we support the legacy releases for a considerable period of time to help our customers upgrade and⁄or migrate. With the general availability of OpManager 10.x since March 2013, we have decided to declare end of support (EOS) for the earlier major releases viz., Version 6.x, Version 7.x, Version 8.x and Version 9.x We will continue to extend technical support for Version 9.x, taking care to see that you have ample time to upgrade and the process is hassle–free. Note: Any bug-fixes, changes, or enhancements will not be made over versions 6.x, 7.x, 8.x and 9.x henceforth. Upgrade plans for existing customers:
FAQs1. Is the EOS different from EOL (end of life)?A: Yes! We have announced only the end of support (EOS) for the earlier versions. However, you can continue to use the older versions at your own risk as your AMS will not be renewed for these versions and technical support will not be provided beyond the dates mentioned. 2. I am on Version 7.x of OpManager Distributed Edition. Does the EOS apply to this edition as well?A: The EOS (end of support) applies only to the standalone versions of OpManager. The Distributed Edition of OpManager is already EOLed. Please refer to http://www.manageengine.com/network-monitoring/distributed-network-monitoring.html for Distributed Edition related queries. 3. Is the upgrade free of cost?A: Yes, all the upgrades are free, provided you have Annual Maintenance and Support for the current period. 4. I have paid AMS for OpManager version 6 recently. How long is the support valid?A: Support is valid and available till the period of AMS. You will need to upgrade to our latest version of OpManager, apply the latest OpManager license and the future renewal of your AMS will be on the latest license and not on the older license. 5. Why should I apply the new license file to the upgraded OpManager?A: Though you have upgraded OpManager to the latest version, you will still need the license keys to enable functionality such as Monitoring Exchange, Active Directory, Virtualization (VMware and Hyper-V monitoring), MS SQL & more... These features are enabled only after you apply the latest license key. 6. I have a user-based or an older version license. What will be the impact on the AMS?A: If you have renewed the AMS, you are eligible to get the equivalent license of the latest version free-of-cost. Since OpManager's latest version is licensed based on the number of devices, you have to inform our sales team (sales@manageengine.com) on how many number of devices you want to continue monitoring. The new license will be sent to you based on your request. Remember that you need to renew the product from thereon based on the new license and not on the older version's pricing. 7. My AMS has expired. What should I do now? Please write to our sales team (sales@manageengine.com). They will help you with the price quote to renew your AMS. After renewal, you can continue to avail the support and upgrades as before. 8. At what price will the AMS be renewed? The AMS will be charged at 20% of the product's list price. The pricing information can be verified at our online store or at the pricing page. Do not hesitate to write to sales@manageengine.com for further clarifications. |
