Product Life Cycle Plan - End of Support

ManageEngine has announced product life cycle plan for ManageEngine OpManager. OpManager 8.x version was released in February 2009 and has since been available for download. Support for the older versions of OpManager, version 6.x and version 7.x series will end.

End of Support Details

We strongly encourage our users to upgrade to the latest version to benefit from the new features, critical bug fixes, enhancements, and the flexibility to opt for special add-ons and plug-ins. After every major release, we support the legacy releases for a considerable period of time to help our customers upgrade and/or migrate. With the general availability of OpManager 8.x since February 2009, we have decided to declare end of support (EOS) for the earlier 2 major releases viz., Version 6.x and Version 7.x.

We will continue to extend technical support for Version 6.x till May 2010, and for Version 7.x till December 2010, taking care to see that you have ample time to upgrade and the process is hassle-free.

Note: Any bug-fixes, changes, or enhancements will not be made over version 6.x and 7.x henceforth.

Upgrade plans for existing customers:

  1. If you are in version 6, write to opmanager-support@manageengine.com to get assistance on the upgrade path.
  2. If you are in version 7, upgrade to the latest build by following the upgrade path detailed here.
  3. For queries regarding renewal of your annual maintenance and support (AMS), get in touch with our sales team at sales@manageengine.com.

FAQs

1. Is the EOS different from EOL (end of life)?
A: Yes! We have announced only the end of support (EOS) for the earlier versions. However, you can continue to use the older versions at your own risk as your AMS will not be renewed for these versions and technical support will not be provided beyond the dates mentioned.

2. I am on Version 7.x of OpManager Distributed Edition. Does this EOS apply to this edition as well?
A: No. The EOS (end of support) applies only to the standalone versions of OpManager.

3. Is the upgrade free of cost?
A: Yes, all the upgrades are free.

4. I have paid AMS for OpManager version 6 recently. How long is the support valid?
A: Support is valid and available till the period of AMS. You will need to move to our latest version post the AMS period and renew your AMS on the latest version.

5. I have a user-based license. What will be the impact after the AMS?
A: If you have renewed the AMS, you will continue enjoying the benefit of monitoring unlimited devices even in the latest version.

6. At what price will the AMS be renewed?
A: The AMS will be charged at 20% of your initial product purchase price. Do not hesitate to write to sales@manageengine.com for further clarifications.
