SharePoint Backup Schedule

SharePoint Manager Plus allows administrators to create and manage backup schedules. To add, edit, or delete schedules, move to the Backup tab and select Backup Schedules from the left panel. A list of already-added schedules, if any, will appear on screen.

To add a new backup schedule,

  • Click + Create Backup on the top right corner of the page.
  • In the pop-up box that appears, fill in the following details:
    • Enter a name for the backup schedule.
    • Select the farm for which you need to create a backup.
    • Select the site collections which need to be backed up during that schedule. To select specific sites, click the + icon beside the site collection to which they belongs. A list of all the sites within that site collection will appear.
    • Select the repository on which the backup should be stored. To add a new repository, click the icon and follow the steps mentioned in Adding a repository

    Note: When a backup is performed at the site collection level, it is not possible to restore separate sites belonging to that site collection. To restore separate sites, backup should be done at the level of the sites.

  • Finally, select the frequency with which you want the backup to be performed.
  • Once you have entered all the necessary details, click Save to add that backup schedule.

To enable/disable a backup schedule,

  • In the Backup tab, when you click Backup Schedules on the left tab, a list of already-added backup schedules appear.
  • To the left of a disabled disabled backup schedule, you can find the enable_icon icon. To enable that schedule, click that icon and then Confirm.
  • To the left of an enabled backup schedule, you can find the disable_icon icon. To disable that schedule, click that icon and then Confirm..

To edit a backup schedule,

  • In the Backup tab, when you click Backup Schedules on the left tab, a list of already-added backup schedules appear.
  • Click the edit icon to the left of the backup schedule that you want to edit.
  • Edit the necessary details and click Save.

To enforce immediate backup,

  • In the Backup tab, when you click Backup Schedules on the left tab, a list of already-added backup schedules appear.
  • To enforce a backup to be performed immediately, click the now_icon icon corresponding to the schedule which needs to be backed up immediately.
  • Click Confirm to enforce the backup.

To delete a backup schedule,

  • In the Backup tab, when you click Backup Schedules on the left tab, a list of already-added backup schedules appear.
  • Click the delete icon to the left of the repository that you want to delete.
  • In the pop-up box that appears, click Delete to confirm deletion.
