Business challenges

"As our environment grew to include Azure-hosted infrastructure alongside the on-premises estate, we needed real-time visibility into activity across AD and file servers without relying on fragmented, manual approaches."

IT team member at NHBC

NHBC runs a hybrid Windows environment that spans on-premises and Azure-hosted domain controllers, Windows file servers, and Microsoft 365. As that estate expanded, the IT team needed a clearer way to monitor what was happening across AD and the file systems that support departmental data shares and user profiles. Manual reporting and disconnected monitoring made it harder to maintain a consistent audit trail, spot suspicious behavior quickly, and understand activity across both traditional AD and cloud-connected services from one place.

The solution

"Custom alert profiles have been created and validated against our specific requirements, and the alerts are working exactly as expected."

IT team member at NHBC

NHBC implemented AD360 with the ADAudit Plus module to centralize auditing across its hybrid environment. The team configured real-time alerting for AD activity, set up scheduled reports so audit data reached the right stakeholders automatically, and enabled file auditing on the Windows servers that host network drives and user profiles.

The team also activated analytics profiles to add behavioral insight on top of raw logs and extended coverage into Microsoft Entra ID through cloud directory auditing after upgrading to the latest build. This gave NHBC a single, more consistent way to track identity and file activity across on-premises systems and cloud services without depending on separate tools or manual checks.

The result

With AD360, NHBC brought AD, file server, and cloud audit visibility into one view. The team now gets trusted alerts, consistent scheduled reporting, and clearer oversight of activity across its hybrid estate.
