What is File Server Resource Manager (FSRM)?

FSRM is a role service on Windows server that allows you to manage files and set storage limits on a server. This role service should be added to a Windows server, if it needs to be used as a file server.

What can you do with FSRM?

How to add FSRM role in Windows server?

Open Server Manager.
Click on Add Roles and Features. This will open the Add Roles and Features Wizard. Click Next to continue.
Select Role-based or Feature-based installation in the next window. Click Next to continue.
Click on Select a server from the server pool. Click Next to continue.
Expand the File and Storage services node to select the FSRM role. This will initiate the installation of the FSRM role.
