- Modify send as, send on behalf, and full access mailbox permissions
- Perform mailbox delegation without PowerShell
In an Microsoft 365 or hybrid Exchange environment, administrators might need to provide access to other users to manage their mailboxes. There are three types of mailbox permissions available in Microsoft 365:
Full Access: Permits a user to act as the owner of the mailbox. The user can read and modify emails, as well as create tasks and calendar items.
Send As: When an individual with this permission sends an email, from the recipients' perspective it will display as though the email was sent by that group, and not that individual user,
Send on Behalf: Permits a user to send emails on behalf of the mailbox.
Using the Exchange Admin Center or PowerShell to apply different permissions to different users or groups can get complicated. ADManager Plus helps you overcome this challenge as you can delegate permissions to users, and mail-enabled security groups to manage Exchange Online mailboxes in bulk.
- Log in to ADManager Plus.
- Go to Microsoft 365 → Management → Mailbox Management → Mailbox delegation.
