How to boot computers using ISO?

Once you have created the ISO media, the next step is to download the ISO media and use it to boot the computers. The ISO media can be used for booting in the following ways,

  1. Booting via USB drive
  2. Booting via CD/DVD drive
  3. Booting Virtual machines

Download the ISO media

The ISO media must be downloaded from the console before being used to boot computers. The following steps will guide you through downloading the ISO media:

  1. In the web console, navigate to Deployment -> Create Bootable media
  2. Select Action for the ISO media that you want to download
  3. Under the Actions tab, click Download media

Steps to boot ISO using USB drive,

  1. Download any third-party tool like Rufus, UltraISO, YUMI
  2. Add the ISO image file into the tool
  3. Insert the USB Drive to burn the ISO file. This USB drive might be formatted 
  4. Once the ISO boot files are copied to the USB drive, you can insert them into the target computers for booting from ISO file. 

Steps to boot ISO using CD/DVD drive,

  1. Download any third-party tool like  UltraISO or PowerISO
  2. Add the ISO image file into the tool
  3. Insert the CD/DVD drive to burn the ISO file.
  4. Right click on the iso file and click Mount to CD/DVD option
  5. Once the ISO boot files are copied to the CD/DVD drive, you can insert them into the target computers for booting from ISO media.

Steps to boot virtual machines using ISO file,

  1. Open Virtual machine settings and specify the location of the ISO file in Image file text box.
  2. Copy the ISO file to the local folder of the virtual machine's server.
  3. Under BIOS settings of virtual machine, enable Boot from CD option. Iso file will be now used for booting the Virtual machine.
