Managing NTFS through Report Generation

Network administrators maintain NTFS share permissions and folder permissions viz. access control lists (ACL), permission inheritance and audits for file level security. Administrators face a huge challenge over the maintenance of their computers in the face of constantly evolving security threats. Companies need to be aware of attacks by malicious or unauthorized access to NTFS which could lead to corruption, misallocation or loss of files in the system. For this Administrators should have reports of access permissions, their inheritance and other parameters, as well as be able to drill down to details.

Share and Folder Permissions Reports

• Shares in the Servers Reports - Lists all the Shares and their repective permissions in the specified Servers
• Folders accessible by Accounts Reports - Lists the Folders and Files over which specified the specified accounts has permissions

Folder Permissions and Access Reports

• Permissions for Folders Reports - Lists the Users/Groups that have access to folders in a specified path.
• Non-Inheritable Folders Reports - Lists the Folders and Files protected from Inheritable permissions.
