How to troubleshoot dormant DataEngine

A dormant DataEngine Xnode application disrupts efficient functioning of the product by making certain features unavailable. A delay in the response could mean your data security department is losing track of valuable insights. If your DataEngine is not running, try the Services methods described below to resolve the issue.

Start the DataEngine via Services:

Here's how you could fix a dormant DataEngine via the Services application:

  • In the machine where the DataSecurity Plus DataEngine is installed, click the Windows icon on your desktop and open the Services app.
  • Right-click ManageEngine DataSecurity Plus - DataEngine XNode and start the service.

If this does not start the DataEngine, try the Command Prompt method.

Start the DataEngine via Command Prompt:

  • In the machine where the DataSecurity Plus DataEngine is installed, open an elevated Command Prompt and delete the service by running the command: sc delete "ManageEngine DataSecurity Plus - DataEngine XNode"
  • Restart the DataSecurity Plus application.
