Room and equipment mailbox management

With ADManager Plus, you can create and modify resource (room and equipment) mailboxes in your on-premises Exchange Server (2007, 2010, 2013, and 2016). You can also create resource mailboxes in cloud-based Office 365 from the same web-based console. You can even standardize these processes with ADManager Plus' customizable templates.

Create resource mailboxes

Create resource mailboxes in Exchange Server and Office 365 simultaneously through ADManager Plus' simple GUI-based actions. All attributes including booking options, resource scheduling, and delegation settings can be configured during creation. You can also configure custom attributes. Moreover, each time you create a resource mailbox in Exchange, ADManager Plus offers an option to create one in Office 365, for which you can enable DirSync, as well.

Modify resource mailboxes

To keep up with the changes in organizational needs and policies, you need to modify Exchange room and equipment mailboxes from time to time. ADManager Plus, with its modification feature, makes this simple. The predictive search option in this feature makes it easy to locate the resource mailbox you need to modify.

These templates also allow you to fine-tune your resource mailbox creation and modification to fit your organization's needs. For instance, you can choose a standard naming format from the options available (such as "same as mailbox name," "first initial+last name," and more) for configuring email addresses and even a custom naming format. You can also customize the template structure to include only desired attributes. You have the freedom to make any field mandatory, read-only, or hidden, which is especially useful for securely delegating room or equipment mailbox management to your help desk.

Delegate resource mailbox management to your help desk

Securely and granularly delegate the creation or modification of new room or equipment mailboxes to specific help desk technicians.You can specify which attributes a particular technician is allowed to update and the boundaries (containers) within which the technician can do so. Create technician-specific templates to ensure every action that the technician performs complies with the terms and conditions in the template.
