Detecting TrickBot activity

Originally designed by a group of sophisticated cybercriminals as a banking Trojan to steal financial data, TrickBot has now evolved into multi-stage malware that gives threat actors the necessary tools to conduct illegal activities.

The United States Department of Justice (DOJ) charged a Latvian national for her alleged role in the international cybercrime organization responsible for creating the TrickBot malware. Once the malware was installed, the victims were notified that their computers were encrypted and that they would have to buy special software through a Bitcoin address that was controlled by the TrickBot group to decrypt the files.

What makes this malware so dangerous is its ability to constantly develop new features. This video explains what TrickBot is, how it affects your organization, and ways to detect it. Watch the video to learn more—three minutes is all it takes!
