Cisco ASA Audit Event: 201006

201006: RCMD back-connection failed for an IP address or a port

Cisco ASA is a security device that provides the combined capabilities of a firewall, an antivirus, and an intrusion prevention system. It also facilitates virtual private network (VPN) connections. It helps to detect threats and stop attacks before they spread through the network.

Message: %ASA-3-201006: RCMD backconnection failed for IP_address.

Event 201006 is generated when the ASA is unable to preallocate connections for inbound standard output for 'rsh'commands because of insufficient memory.

How could you resolve this situation?

Check the rsh client version. The ASA only supports the Berkeley rsh client version. You can also reduce the amount of memory usage or purchase additional memory.
