107002: RIP packet failed

Message: %ASA-1-107002: RIP pkt failed from IP_address : version=number on interface interface_name.

Event 107002 is generated when any of the following is encountered:

  • a router bug.
  • a packet with non-RFC values.
  • a malformed entry.

How could you resolve this situation?

Monitor this event carefully and change the keys if the origin of the packet is doubtful.
