Cisco ASA Audit Event: 325001

325001: Router has conflicting ND (neighbor discovery) settings

Cisco ASA is a security device that provides the combined capabilities of a firewall, an antivirus, and an intrusion prevention system. It also facilitates virtual private network (VPN) connections. It helps to detect threats and stop attacks before they spread through the network.

Message: %ASA-3-325001: Router ipv6_address on interface has conflicting ND (Neighbor Discovery) settings.

Event 325001 is generated when another router on the link sends router advertisements with conflicting parameters. The IPv6 address of the other router and the interface name of the link with the other router are specified in the message.

How could you resolve this situation?

Use the 'show IPv6 interface' command to list the parameters of an interface. Verify that all IPv6 routers on the link have the same parameters in the router advertisement for hop_limit, managed_config_flag, other_config_flag,reachable_time and ns_interval, and that preferred and valid lifetimes for the same prefix, advertised by several routers, are the same.
