110003: Routing failed to locate next-hop

Cisco ASA is a security device that provides the combined capabilities of a firewall, an antivirus, and an intrusion prevention system. It also facilitates virtual private network (VPN) connections. It helps to detect threats and stop attacks before they spread through the network.

Message: %ASA-6-110003: Routing failed to locate next-hop for protocol from src interface :src IP/src port to dest interface :dest IP/dest port.

Event 110003 is generated when an error is encountered when the ASA tries to find the next hop on an interface routing table. The message contains the:

  • protocol.
  • source interface.
  • source IP address and port number.
  • destination IP address and port number.
