Cisco ASA Audit Event: 320001

320001: Subject name of the peer cert not allowed for connection

Cisco ASA is a security device that provides the combined capabilities of a firewall, an antivirus, and an intrusion prevention system. It also facilitates virtual private network (VPN) connections. It helps to detect threats and stop attacks before they spread through the network.

Message: %ASA-3-320001: The subject name of the peer cert is not allowed for connection.

Event 320001 is generated when the peer certificate includes a subject name that does not match the output of the 'ca verifycertdn' command. This might denote a man-in-the-middle attack where a device spoofs the peer IP address and tries to intercept a VPN connection from the ASA.

How could you resolve this situation?
