Cisco ASA Audit Event: 321007

321007: System is low on free memory blocks

Cisco ASA is a security device that provides the combined capabilities of a firewall, an antivirus, and an intrusion prevention system. It also facilitates virtual private network (VPN) connections. It helps to detect threats and stop attacks before they spread through the network.

Message: %ASA-3-321007: System is low on free memory blocks of size block_size (free_blocks CNT out of max_blocks MAX).

Event 321007 is generated when a system is low on free memory blocks. Running out of blocks may result in traffic disruption. The block size, the number of free blocks, and the maximum number of blocks that the system can allocate are specified in the message.

How could you resolve this situation?

Use the 'show blocks' command to monitor the amount of free blocks in the CNT column of the output for the indicated block size. If the CNT column remains zero or very close to it for an extended period of time, then the ASA may be overloaded or running into another issue that needs additional investigation.
