1168: W3SVC failed to relate HTTP protocol to application
The IIS World Wide Web Publishing Service is responsible for managing the HTTP protocol and HTTP performance counters. An IIS web site is a unique collection of web pages and web applications that is hosted on an IIS web server.
Event 1168 is generated when the W3SVC did not create a relationship between two applications in a site.
How could you resolve this situation?
Stop and restart the HTTP service and Windows Process Activation Service. This would also stop the World Wide Web Publishing Service. All web traffic to the server will be stopped in the meantime.
