5143: WAS failed site protocol lists update

The IIS World Wide Web Publishing Service is responsible for managing the HTTP protocol and HTTP performance counters. An IIS web site is a unique collection of web pages and web applications that is hosted on an IIS web server.

Event 5143 is generated when Windows Process Activation Service did not process changes that affect supported protocols for a particular site. The site is specified in the event log message. The site will be stopped because the system is unable to guarantee that all messages intended for the site will be processed.

How could you resolve this situation?

Stop and restart the World Wide Web Publishing Service. This will also stop any other services that depend on it. So, they would also need to be restarted.

We can help you simplify log management and improve your organization's security with EventLog Analyzer.
