Managing Microsoft 365 with ADManager Plus

Deploying cloud-based Microsoft 365 brings with it the duty of management. Unfortunately, the Microsoft 365 management portal falls short on several fronts. For instance, it limits the number of users that can be managed simultaneously and provides no support for CSV-based bulk user modification. As a result, IT admins often depend on PowerShell, which makes things even more complicated. Moreover, IT admins have to juggle between multiple consoles to manage their Active Directory, Exchange Server, and Microsoft 365 environments. This not only adds to an administrator's burdens, but also increases the time taken to accomplish each task.

Managing Microsoft 365 with ADManager Plus

ADManager Plus lets you manage Microsoft 365 easily, without any of the complexities and limitations posed by native Microsoft tools.

  • Simultaneously create bulk user accounts in Active Directory and Microsoft 365, with appropriate licenses.
  • Create Microsoft 365 user accounts in bulk for the users already present in your Active Directory. You can also bulk modify the naming attributes of users.
  • Create and delete Microsoft 365, distribution, and mail-enabled security groups in bulk.
  • Assign or revoke licenses for Micrsoft 365 users in bulk.
  • View an exhaustive set of preconfigured Microsoft 365 reports that contain crucial information about the licenses, users, and groups in your Microsoft 365 environment.
  • Perform Exchange Online management tasks; for example, modify mail-enabled security and distribution groups, disable/delete remote mailboxes, disable/enable email forwarding, manage mailbox storage limits, delegate mailboxes, and hide specific users from address lists.
  • Create shared mailboxes in Microsoft 365.

Beyond Microsoft 365, ADManager Plus also enables you to manage Active Directory, Exchange Server and Skype for Business or Lync, along with provisioning users in Google Workspace.

Microsoft 365 user provisioning

From a unified console, you can create new accounts for users in Microsoft 365 (based on the Azure Active Directory module) and Active Directory at the same time. Further, while creating new Microsoft 365 user accounts, ADManager Plus lets you:

  • Choose whether they have to be created with or without DirSync enabled.
  • Assign licenses to users, and then specify the services they should have access to.

You can create these accounts in bulk using the CSV import option. You can also use templates to standardize the user creation process. Templates also let you configure user creation rules to automatically assign specific Microsoft 365 licenses to users during the account creation process based on predefined conditions.

You can also create Office 365 user accounts for the users already present in your AD.

Flexible Microsoft 365 license management

ADManager Plus also lets you manage already assigned Microsoft 365 licenses. With simple point and click actions, Microsoft 365 licenses can be easily assigned, replaced, and revoked.

  • Selective license management: You can add, replace, or revoke selected users' licenses in a single action.
  • Bulk license management via CSV-import: The list of users whose licenses have to be managed can be imported from a CSV file and their licenses can be added, replaced, or revoked.
  • Help desk delegation: Securely assign the tasks of provisioning Microsoft 365 users and managing their licenses to help desk technicians.
