Would you like to receive timely reports (email notifications) about your domain user's password and account expiry in your inbox? Well, ADManager Plus has exclusive reporting section dedicated to password and account status.

Unlike the native tools or PowerShell, not only can ADManager Plus automate the report generation process, it is also equipped to notify Active Directory administrators (via email) the status of user accounts and passwords - whether they are about to expire or have expired. In fact, it's not a prosaic notification, but a detailed report delivered into your inbox.

Scheduler to notify password / user account expiry

To receive notifications about soon-to-expire or expired passwords / user accounts in Active Directory, all you have to do is configure a scheduler.

Following are the reports available in the password and user account status reports category:

  • Soon-to-expire User Accounts Report
  • Expired User Accounts Report
  • Report on Accounts that Never Expire
  • Password Expired Users Report
  • Soon-to-expire User Passwords Report
  • Report on Password Changed Users
  • Report on Password Unchanged Users

The most important advantage of email notifications about password or account expiry

While such notifications are important in a centralized password management environment, where Active Directory administrators have to intervene and reset passwords of end-users before they expire, these notifications gain paramount importance in organizations that allow resources to be accessed over VPN.

Windows has password notification system, which informs end-user about any impending password expiry and urges him or her to change it. However, it works only for users inside a premise. For out-of-premise users such as VPN users, Windows is not designed to provide password or account expiry notifications. Moreover, there is not a proper indication access is denied because one is trying to log on using an expired password or user account.

With ADManager Plus being capable of informing administrators about users' password and account status, this problem is resolved conveniently.
