Unified Endpoint Management, to put it simply, means managing and securing all endpoints - be it Desktops, laptops, servers, mobile devices, IoT devices from a single console. To be able to do that effectively, you need both traditional CMT tools and modern MDM/ EMM tools.
Hexnode claims itself as an UEM without having deep traditional endpoint management capabilities. Many organizations still require traditional management for enterprise workstations and server management.
In fact, while Endpoint Central is recognized as a strong performer in the 2023 Forrester Wave, Hexnode is missing in this report because it does not meet the criteria for UEM tools.

Hexnode has comprehensive security for mobile devices, but when it comes to enterprise workstations (desktops, laptops and servers), it lacks endpoint privilege management, application allow listing and block listing, data loss prevention, enterprise browser security, anti - ransomware, and advanced security capabilities - all available in Endpoint Central.
Hexnode has a very limited OS update management capability. Its lack of traditional patch management is one of main reason we why don't call them as UEM yet. It also does not have any provision to patch your third party applications, Servers, BIOS, and hardware drivers.

Linux machines are widely used in enterprises for stability, secure computing, and much more. Not just that, Linux endpoints also come in a variety of flavors
Linux users will be disheartened to note that Hexnode does not support Linux OS, whereas Endpoint Central has a wide range of capabilities and features available for Linux Management.

Endpoint Central was conceived in 2005, whereas Mitsogo (Hexnode's parent company) was founded in 2013. Our longevity in this market is a proof that we are one of the very few vendors with a market driven R&D approach towards building products. That's why we understand your needs and have all the essential capabilities - like thick client OS imaging capabilities, remote troubleshooting for workstations (Windows, Mac, and Linux), endpoint analytics and experience management, which Hexnode does not have.
