Bandwidth utilization reports - A must-need report for a network traffic monitoring tool
"NetFlow Analyzer has helped us reduce the time taken to isolate and contain threats like worms and virus attacks. It has also helped us to solve network incidents faster, and do better capacity planning."
To be able to monitor the bandwidth utilization - application, source, destination, top talkers, conversations, QoS, DSCP and more - gives a great leverage to a network administrator / manager, when talking with the higher management about commissioning another pipe for the network. There are very useful reports regarding bandwidth utilization and network traffic monitoring that can be obtained from ManageEngine NetFlow Analyzer. All you need to know is how it is done, so that you can get your hands on the bandwidth utilization and network traffic reports without spending more time than required.
The bandwidth utilization for interface IN and interface OUT can be viewed at the dashboard level. The bandwidth utilization is the percentage of bandwidth utilized off the the total bandwidth available. The separate interface is obtained by SNMP polling and it can also be over written manually through NetFlow Analyzer. Bandwidth utilization for the IP groups can also be viewed.
The customizable dashboard makes it easy for network administrators / managers to add the required widgets(over 50 widgets are readily available) to the dashboard for viewing the network in one glance.
Alert profiles is another feature which helps network administrators / mangers to use their resources for network traffic monitoring, effectively. Alert profiles lets the users set profiles to send alerts (as emails or SNMP traps) when a threshold is violated. This threshold can be percentage of bandwidth utilization for a particular interface, for a predefined set of times, in a particular time period.
Once an user sees that the bandwidth utilization has reached high levels, he can drill down further and see the exact reason (traffic, application, source, destination etc.) for the particular interface.
As simple as it gets!
NetFlow Analyzer is a NetFlow, sFlow, JFLow (and more) collector and analyzing engine integrated together. NetFlow analyzer is a software (for windows and linux), does not require any hardware probes, which can be downloaded, used in your network environment and can be evaluated for 30 days. Go through the following useful links for better understanding of how NetFlow Analyzer can help you in understanding your network traffic and bandwidth utilization.
