Pricing FAQs:

How is RecoveryManager Plus licensed?
RecoveryManager Plus is licensed based on the number of components (Active Directory, virtual machine, or Windows server) you'd like to back up, with the option to pick and choose components based on your specific needs.

Licensing is based on the following parameters:

  • Active Directory: The number of enabled user objects to be backed up.
  • Virtual machine: The number of virtual machine hosts to be backed up.
  • Windows server: The number of servers to be backed up.
How does licensing work if my environment only uses one of the three component types (Active Directory, virtual machines, and Windows servers)?
The Active Directory, virtual machine, and Windows server components are individually licensed. Based on your requirements, you can choose to purchase a license for just one or any combination of the three component types.
How is RecoveryManager Plus licensed for Active Directory?
The Active Directory license component is based on Number of Enabled User Objects. There are no restrictions on the number of Groups, Computers, OUs, etc. that can be backed up using RecoveryManager Plus.
How is RecoveryManager Plus licensed for virtual environments?
The Virtual Environment license component is based on Number of Virtual Hosts (VMware ESXi/Hyper-V Hosts). There are no restrictions in number of virtual machines or CPU sockets that can be backed up and restored.
How is RecoveryManager Plus licensed for Windows servers?
The Windows server component is licensed based on the number of Windows servers that you want to back up using RecoveryManager Plus.
Is the price of license for backing up VMware & Hyper-V hosts different?
The price for VMware and Hyper-V hosts are same.
I've already purchased a license for the Active Directory component. Do I need to purchase a license for the Windows server component to back up my domain controllers?
No. You can back up and restore Windows domain controllers if you have already purchased the Active Directory component.
Should I have to get different licenses for my groups and my computers?
Not necessary; Licenses are given based on the number of enabled users and not based on the number of all other AD objects.
How do I find the number of users objects in my domain to purchase a license?
To know the number of user objects in your domain, configure the domain to be backed up in RecoveryManager Plus, and click the license link in the top-right corner after logging in.
Does the license include inactive users such as the disabled users and account expired users ?
RecoveryManager Plus' Active Directory Component is licensed only based on Number of active user objects. By default, RecoveryManager Plus backs up all AD Objects including disabled user objects and account expired users.
Is there an option to back up only specific user objects?
Yes, you can specify the organizational units on which you want to perform the backup operation.
