  • How is RecoveryManager Plus licensed?

    RecoveryManager Plus is licensed through an annual subscription and includes the following components:

    1. Active Directory
    2. Azure Active Directory
    3. Hybrid Active Directory
    4. SharePoint Online
    5. OneDrive for Business
    6. Exchange Online/On-premises Exchange.
    7. Google Workspace.
    8. Zoho WorkDrive.

    Based on your backup needs, you can choose all or any specific components you need. Mentioned below are the licensing criteria for each component:

  • Can I use RecoveryManager Plus to back up just any one component?

    Yes. The Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Exchange Online, Google Workspace, Zoho WorkDrive and on-premises components of RecoveryManager Plus are licensed individually. You can choose to purchase any one or all of the above components based on your requirement

  • How is the Active Directory component of RecoveryManager Plus licensed?

    The licensing of your Active Directory component differs based on the type of your AD environment.

    If you have an on-premises AD environment, it’s licensed based on number of enabled user objects. There are no restrictions on the number of Groups, Computers, OUs, or other AD objects that can be backed up using RecoveryManager Plus.

    If you have an Azure AD environment, it’s licensed based on the number of user objects. There are no restrictions on the number of Groups, Computers, OUs, or other AD objects that can be backed up using RecoveryManager Plus.

    If you have a hybrid AD environment, you can choose to backup just to backup your on-premises AD, Azure AD, or both environments using RecoveryManager Plus. the pricing for each mode is dependent on the following components:

    1. If you want to backup just your on-premises component, it's based on the number of enabled user objects. In your on-premises AD.
    2. If you have an Azure AD environment, it’s licensed based on the number of user objects. There are no restrictions on the number of Groups, Computers, OUs, or other AD objects that can be backed up using RecoveryManager Plus.
    3. If you want to backup both you on-premises and Azure AD, it's based on the number of enabled user objects in your on-premises AD and the number of pure Azure user objects.
  • How is the SharePoint Online/OneDrive for Business component of RecoveryManager Plus licensed?

    The SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business components are licensed based on the number of sites you want to back up. 

  • How is the Exchange (on-premises and/or Exchange Online) component for RecoveryManager Plus licensed?

    Depending on your needs, the Exchange component is licensed based on either of these models:

    1. Mailbox backup and restoration: It’s licensed based on the number of mailboxes you want to back up; you can backup mailboxes, perform granular restoration of mailbox items or entire mailbox restorations, and export mailboxes to PST format.
    2. Export to PST: This model will only allow you to export mailboxes to PST format and is licensed based on the number of mailboxes you want to export to PST format.
  • How is the Zoho WorkDrive component for RecoveryManager Plus licensed?

    The Zoho WorkDrive component is licensed based on the number of users you want to back up. A single license allows you to back up and restore My Folder of your WorkDrive team. To back up the Team Folder, you'll need licenses for all users in the team.

  • How is the Google Workspace component for RecoveryManager Plus licensed?

    The Google Workspace component is licensed based on the number of users you want to back up. A single license allows you to back up and restore both a user's mailbox and their drive.

  • Should I have to get different licenses for my Active Directory groups and my computers?

    No. Licenses are based on the number of enabled users and not on any other AD objects.

  • How do I find the number of user objects in my domain to purchase a license?

    To find the number of enabled users in your AD environment,

    1. Open PowerShell in your domain controller.
    2. Run the following command - (get-aduser -filter *|where {$_.enabled -eq "True"}).count.
  • Does the license include inactive users such as the disabled users and account expired users?

    RecoveryManager Plus's Active Directory Component is licensed only based on Number of active user objects. By default, RecoveryManager Plus backs up all AD Objects including disabled user objects and account expired users.

  • The number of AD and/or Azure AD objects being backed up has exceeded my licensed limits. Will I still be able to backup my AD and Azure AD environment?

    You can still backup your AD and Azure AD environments but there will be a few limitations.

    You will not be able to:

    1. Manually trigger incremental backups
    2. Perform scheduled full backups
    3. Perform bulk object restorations
    4. Perform rollback operations
    5. Add new AD domains/Azure tenants to RecoveryManager Plus

    To get back all these features, you can:

    1. Purchase additional license for the remaining user objects.
    2. Unselect certain OUs from the backup schedule to ensure you’re only backing up the number of objects as per your license.
