Error: Folder could be empty or you do not have permissions to list out the contents of this folder

Root cause:

The error message usually comes when the service account that is being used in ADManager Plus service inservice.msc does not have enough permissions to read and write on the empty folder or the share.

Solution:

This error can be resolved by giving the read and write permission on that share for that service account used within ADManager Plus. Additionally, make sure that the shared path selected does exist on the share and the folder is not empty.
