How to create groups in Active Directory?

Objective: Create groups in Active Directory using ADManager Plus.

ADManager Plus allows you create single or multiple Active Directory groups using templates or CSV files.

Steps to create Active Directory group manually

Single group creation:

• Logon to ADManager Plus.
• Go to Management → Group management → Create single group.
• In the single group creation layout, enter all the necessary details and click Create.

Bulk groups creation:

• Logon to ADManager Plus.
• Go to Management → Group management → Create Bulk Groups. (or) AD Mgmt → Group management → Create Groups (under CSV import).
• In the bulk group creation page, click the Import icon to import the CSV file containing the group details.
• Click Next to select the container (OU) and click Create Groups.

Steps to create Active Directory groups automatically

• Logon to ADManager Plus.
• Click the Automation tab.
• Select Create New Automation.
• Enter a suitable automation name and description. Choose the domain from the drop down list.
• Set Group Automation as the category.
• Under Automation Task/Policy, select Create Group from the drop down list.
• You can choose the template from the pre-configured templates list.
• For input, you can upload the CSV file containing the group details by providing the location of the CSV file.
• Specify the time and interval at which this task is to be run. Enable SMS or/and Email notification, if necessary.
• Click Save.

Once the automation is executed, groups will be created in Active Directory.
