How to create contacts in Active Directory?

Objective: Create contacts in Active Directory using ADManager Plus.

ADManager Plus allows you create single or multiple Active Directory contact objects using templates or CSV files, with it's built-in Active Directory management capabilities.

Steps to create Active Directory contact manually

Single contact creation:

• Logon to ADManager Plus.
• Go to Management → Contact management → Create single contact.
• In the single contact creation layout, enter all the necessary details and click Create.

Bulk contacts creation:

• Logon to ADManager Plus.
• Go to Management → Contact Management → Create Bulk Contacts. (or) AD Mgmt → Contact Management → Create Contacts (under CSV import).
• In the bulk contacts creation section, click the Import icon to import the CSV file containing the contact details.
• Click Next to select the container (OU) and click Create Contacts.

Steps to create Active Directory contacts automatically

• Logon to ADManager Plus.
• Click the Automation tab.
• Select Create New Automation.
• Enter a suitable automation name and description. Choose the domain from the drop down list.
• Set Contact Automation as the category.
• Under Automation Task/Policy, select Create Contact from the drop down list.
• You can choose the template from the pre-configured templates list.
• For input, you can upload the CSV file containing the contact details by providing the location of the CSV file.
• Specify the time at which this task is to be run. Enable SMS or/and Email notification, if necessary.
• Click Save.

Once the automation is executed, contacts will be created in Active Directory.
