24012: Must change password

A user is forced to change passwords regularly to enhance security. An administrator can force a user to change their SQL server login password from the adminstrator's console. Event 24012 occurs when an administrator forces a user to change their SQL login password. It is generated by the

LOGIN_CHANGE_PASSWORD_GROUP action group. Important information can be derived from this event including the:

  • Date and time at which the event occurred.
  • Session identifier of the event.
  • Privileged user who performed the action.
  • ID, name, and type of the target object (in this case, the SQL server login).
