File Transfer Insights

The File Transfer Insights reports provide detailed visibility into file transfer activity across cloud services. You can review blocked upload and download attempts, identify large file transfers that may indicate bulk data movement, monitor uploads to personal cloud storage platforms, and flag transfers that occur outside business hours. You can use these reports to investigate suspicious and risky data transfer events and assess whether file movement across cloud services aligns with your organization's policies.

To navigate to these reports, follow these steps:

  • Select Cloud Protection from the application drop-down.
  • Go to Reports > File Transfer Insights.
  • Choose a reports and select the desired time range from the Period drop-down menu.

Available Reports

Report name Description Purpose
Blocked Uploads Lists all file upload requests blocked by the File Upload Control policy. Use this report to investigate blocked upload events and verify that upload control policies are being enforced correctly.
Blocked Downloads Lists all file download requests blocked by the File Download Control policy. Use this report to investigate blocked download attempts that indicate unauthorized data access and verify that download restrictions are being enforced correctly.
Large Uploads (>50MB) Lists all upload requests where the uploaded file size exceeded 50MB. Use this report to review high-volume outbound transfers and determine whether restrictions should be enforced.

Large uploads may indicate bulk data transfers, backup activity, or potential data exfiltration.
Large Downloads (>50MB) Lists download requests where the downloaded file size exceeded 50MB. Use this report to review high-volume download activity and flag transfers that may pose a security risk.

Large downloads may indicate bulk data retrieval, malware delivery, or downloads from unsanctioned or low-reputed services.
Cloud Storage Uploads Lists files uploaded to cloud storage services. Use this report to monitor data movement to personal and external storage platforms—Google Drive, Dropbox, Box, and Others—and identify transfers that may violate data handling policies.
Uploads Outside Business Hours Lists upload activity that occurred outside your configured business hours. Use this report to flag and review potentially risky data transfers.

After-hours uploads may indicate unauthorized data transfers or activity from compromised accounts.
Top Upload Destinations Lists cloud applications ranked by the volume of data uploaded to them. Use this report to identify the most frequently used or highest-volume upload destinations and assess whether any unexpected services are receiving large volumes of organizational data.
Top Downloading Applications Lists the cloud applications ranked by the volume of data downloaded through them. Use this report to identify which applications are driving the most download traffic and prioritize them for further review or policy enforcement.

High volume downloads may indicate bulk data retrieval, compromised accounts, or malware delivery.
