What are Inventory Alerts
Inventory alerts are notifications sent to IT administration team in the event of any suspicious movement taking place inside the managed IT network. The notifications are generally sent as E-mail, SMS and/or mobile app notifications. The alerts will be sent during the successive asset scan triggered by the managed endpoints after any configuration changes. These include:-
- Hardware Changes: Notifications are sent when hardware components like input/output devices, storage devices, logical devices, memory, controllers, network devices, ports etc are added or removed from an endpoint device.
- Software Modifications: Alerts are sent when any software is installed or uninstalled on any managed endpoint, ensuring administrators are aware of all software changes.
- Prohibited Software Installation: If any restricted or unauthorized software is installed on a device, an alert is triggered to address the issue promptly.
- License Compliance: Alerts notify administrators when software licenses are non-compliant or nearing expiration, if any software is used after license expiry. It also notifies if a license of a commercial software is not utilized properly.
- Disk Space Management: Alerts are triggered when disk space is running low, covering both total free space and partition-specific free space.
- Certificate Expiration: IT administrators receive alerts before a certificate expires, with the ability to set the notification period to receive timely reminders.
