The Reset & Unlock tab consists of settings related to the self-password reset and account unlock features. Learn how to configure these settings to suit your requirements. Here are the settings under the Reset & Unlock tab:
Enabling this option will automatically unlock users’ accounts when they reset their passwords using ADSelfService Plus. This option will save time for users as they no longer have to wait until their lockout duration is over to get back to work.
This option is similar to the one available in Active Directory. Enabling it will force users to change their passwords during the next logon after they reset their passwords.
When this setting is enabled, passwords will be automatically generated based on the custom password policy configured in the product and sent to the users via SMS or email. If the generated password fails to comply with the password policy, or the Have I Been Pwned? service integration identifies that the password has been breached before, then the user will be redirected to the password reset page to reset the password manually.
This setting, if enabled, will prevent users from using the Copy and Paste computer commands to paste passwords in the password fields.
When this setting is enabled, once a user enters a password during self-service password reset that does not comply with the domain password policy, the user can reset their password without having to verify their identities again.
The Password Strength Analyzer, if enabled, will analyze the new passwords being created and display the strength of the password to the user using the password strength meter that is right below the new password field. The meter displays the following colors as the user types in the new password corresponding to the password strength:
Red - Weak passwords
Yellow - Moderate passwords
Green - Strong passwords
Users can use the meter as a guide to create more complex and strong passwords.
The password history setting configured in the Active Directory domain or fine-grained password policy will be enforced during self-service password reset if this setting is enabled.
