Unauthenticated and authenticated remote code execution vulnerabilities (CVE-2021-33055) were discovered in ADSelfService Plus and have been fixed.
ADSelfService Plus employs PowerShell scripts to achieve the functionality of features such as password synchronization. Unicode's General Punctuation block contains symbols composed of multiple single-quotes and double-quotes. When these symbols are included in PowerShell scripts, they can be used to begin and end strings. However since these symbols are not considered as Unicode-encoded by PowerShell, they may be misused to perform PowerShell injection attacks.
ADSelfService Plus builds 6102 and below are affected by this.
This is a critical issue.
We have fixed this vulnerability in build 6105 of ADSSP. Update to the latest version of ADSelfService Plus using the service pack.
This issue was reported by STM Cyber via BugBounty.
