Patch Installation Failure - Access Denied - 0x80070005




When installing the deployed patches on the client machines through SCCM, the installation fails with error code 0x80070005 -Access Denied Exception


The most common reason for this error is that incorrect Firewall or Antivirus settings, prevents the installation of third-party updates on to client machines.


To resolve this issue, you will need to check your Antivirus and Firewall settings to enable the download and installation of the required third-party update files. 

Head over to the Antivirus and Firewall configuration page, from where you will need to manually make an exception to allow updates to get installed on to client machines.
