Note: If you are new to Desktop Central, download the Complete EXE. No need to download Service Pack separately.

We recommend users to move to the latest version, Desktop Central 7 build #70001 (How can I find my Build number?)

If you are using a build earlier to 60200, follow migration sequence or please contact Desktop Central Support to upgrade.

Shut down Desktop Central. (either through Start --> Programs -->ManageEngine Desktop Central 6--> Stop Desktop Central or Right click Desktop Central logo on the Notification area of Task bar and click Shut down Server)
Important: Take a backup of the Desktop Central installation directory (<Install_Dir>/DesktopCentral_Server) to avoid any data loss during the upgrade process.
Execute the UpdateManager.bat file present in the <Desktop Central_Home>/bin directory.
Click "Browse" and select the.ppm file that you have downloaded.
Click "Install" to install the service pack. This may take few minutes depending on the amount of data that needs to be migrated.
Wait until the service pack / hotfix is fully installed.
Click "Close" and then click "Exit" to exit the Update Manager tool.
Start the Desktop Central.

In some rare scenarios, you might get an error while starting Desktop Central after upgrading to version 7 as "Failed to start Desktop Central Service". Follow the steps below to resolve:

Restart the computer where Desktop Central Server is installed.
Open a command prompt and change directory to <DesktopCentral_Server>/bin directory.
Execute the script as below:
DCService.bat -i
Start the Desktop Central Server.

Log in to the Desktop Central web client, and click the "About us" link in the top pane. You will find the build number mentioned below the version number. This is the build number of the currently installed Desktop Central.
