Patch Download Failure - "Error 407"


You are trying to download patches of Microsoft/other vendors. However Patch download fails with error message: "Error Code 407".


The possible reasons could be:

  1. Proxy might not have been configured. (or) Authentication provided in the proxy settings does not have necessary privileges to download EXE files.


  1. Add the proxy settings. Go to Admin --> Proxy settings --> Type the appropriate user name and password along with IP. The user specified should have the permission to download the exe file.
  2. Ensure that the configured Proxy settings has permission to download the installabe files from the below mentioned websites
    1. - for Microsoft applications
    2. - for Mozila Firefox & Mozilla Thunderbird
    3. http://* - for Adobe patches, flash player, Adobe air
    4. - for Adobe Shockwave Player
    5. - for Java updates
    6. http://* - for Mac OS updates, Quick time player, Itunes  & JRE 1.6
    7. - for Real player
    8. http://* - for JRE 1.7
    9. http://* - for Open Office
    10. - for Google chrome s
    11. - for Mozilla Firefox 3.6
    12. - for CCleaner
    13. - for TightVNC
    14. http://* - for TightVNC
    15. http://* - for Notepad ++
    16. - for WinRAR
    17. - for Foxit Reader
    18. - for Libre Office
    19. https://* for CDBurnerXP
    20. - for Winzip
    21. http://* - PDF Architect
    22. - for AllwaySync
    23. - for GIMP
