Unable to connect to Remote Desktop


You are trying to establish remote connection to a computer using Desktop Central and you are connection fails. 


You cannot establish a connection because some of the web browsers, like Chrome, Firefox and Edge no longer supports the "Java Plugin", which is essential for remote connections.


You will have to manually download the Desktop Central’s Remote Control component. Follow the steps mentioned below to install the component, as explained in the images below:

  1. Download and install the Desktop Central’s Remote Control Component as shown below

  2. Once the installation is completed, then retry to establish remote connection
  3. If you are using Chrome browser, you will have to click Launch Application, when you initiate remote connection as mentioned below :

  4. If you are usign Firefox, then you will have to click OK as mentioned below

  5. If you are using Edge browser, you will have to click Yes as mentioned below

You can see that you will be able to connect to remote computers using Desktop Central. This Desktop Central's Remote Control component is available on the Desktop Central server as shown below. You can download this component, on any viewer machine, if remote connection is not established due to java plugin issue.

Note:  If you have problems in installaing the Remote Control component, then you will have to right click on the downloaded msi and click "unblock" against security to enable installation. You can now see that the component is installed successfully.
