Data of nearly 90,000 Mastercard Priceless Specials loyalty members available online.

On September 1, 2019, data breach notification site Have I Been Pwned revealed that details from an earlier data breach that affected 90,000 German members of the Mastercard Priceless Specials loyalty program have leaked online.

The incident

On August 23, Mastercard discovered the data breach and notified the German and Belgian Data Protection Authorities (DPA). Mastercard immediately suspended the Priceless Specials program and took down its German website. 

The compromised information includes customers’ names, payment card numbers, IP addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, genders, and dates of birth. Fortunately, passwords, card expiration dates, and CVC numbers were not breached. Mastercard is offering free credit monitoring and identity theft prevention services for all the impacted customers for one year.
