Desktop Central Server is Not Compatible
Problem
You cannot restore a backup file from an older version of Desktop Central to its latest version. The error message that you see on the screen is, 'The Desktop Central Server is not compatible'.
Cause
You cannot restore backup files from older versions of Desktop Central to new versions directly.
Resolution
To restore backup files from an older version of Desktop Central to its latest version, follow the steps given below:
- Download the executable file of the build corresponding to the required backup file, from the Desktop Central archive link for desktopcentral archive (http://archives.manageengine.com/desktop-central/)
- Install the executable file
- Apply the backup file to this setup from backuprestore.bat
- Upgrade to the latest build
You have successfully restored a backup file, from an older version of Desktop Central, to its latest version.
