OpManager recognizes and monitors many types of interfaces out-of-the-box, from Fast Ethernet interfaces to high-speed Fibre Channels. More than 230 different interface types are supported. As soon as an interface is discovered, OpManager automatically associates a pre-defined monitoring interval and optimal threshold limits for utilization, errors and discards. These predefined values can be changed to suit specific monitoring requirements whenever required. The interface templates come very handy for WAN and Network administrators, who can set a common monitoring scheme to many interfaces of the same type instead of having to individually configure for each interface e.g. All it takes is three clicks to assign a blanket ‘no status polling’ for all user’s desktop machines.
