How do I change the port numbers required to connect and to transfer files to a remote computer?

Description

This document provides steps to change the port numbers required to connect and to transfer files to a remote computer. The default port numbers, in Desktop Central, for establishing remote connections and transferring files are as follows:

  • 8443 and 8031 respectively, for secure connections
  • 8444 and 8032 respectively, for non-secure connections

However, these can be changed, if required.

Steps

To change the port numbers required to connect and to transfer files to a remote computer, follow the steps given below:

  1. Click the Tools tab
  2. In the Windows Tools section, click Remote Control
  3. Click the Settings tab
  4. In the Port Settings section, change the port numbers for the following types of ports:
    • Gateway Port
    • File Transfer Port
  5. Click Save Changes

You have changed the port numbers as required. The settings will be applied immediately.
