Add device failed.  How should I resolve this ?

Device Addition may fail due to the following reasons :

  • Device DNS name not resolved, leading to updating an empty DNS name in the database.

If the DNS name is not resolved, the device IP will be used as DNS name in OpManager. If DNS name is not resolved and OpManager couldn't fetch the device IP Address, an empty DNS name will be updated in OpManager. To fix this error, make sure the device's DNS name is resolved properly.

  • Device might be partially added into OpManager due to some DB connection issue.
