Device templates

ManageEngine OpManager is a comprehensive network monitoring software that helps you monitor the health and performance of devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, printers, physical and virtual servers, and storage devices, in real-time. OpManager offers support for more than 10000 device types and 450 device vendors that help you efficiently discover, classify and monitor the devices in your network without any hassle.

What is a device template?

Device templates are used to automatically associate a device model's details to a new or existing device in a network. A device template is nothing but an XML file that is preloaded with device-related details such as device type, vendor and system description. It also has essential performance monitors populated based on the Object Identifiers (OIDs) provided by the vendors' MIBs. This helps OpManager to automatically classify the device and associate the necessary monitors during discovery itself, thereby greatly reducing the deployment time.

In this page, you can search for a particular device template, import it into OpManager and then re-discover the device to associate it with the template.

If the vendor you're searching for is not available, you can request for a new template here.
