The advantages of using the Remote Desktop Sharing feature are as follows:
Does not require authentication to gain access to a remote computer.
Supports viewing and accessing remote computers using Active X and Java Plug-ins.
Enables administrators to prompt users for confirmation before providing access to a remote desktop.
Ability to record the remote sessions for audit purpose.
Note: Though Endpoint Central (formerly Desktop Central) agent doesn't require any authentication to access computers remotely, you can enable privacy settings which prevents technicians from initiating remote sessions without end-user confirmation. Go to Admin > System Manager Settings > User Confirmation Settings to enable this. This is useful especially if your organization is complying with standards like HIPAA.
