Database availability groups (DAGs) are sets of components that play a pivotal role in database recovery. In case of a database failure, the efficiency of a server’s recovery mechanism is largely dependent on its DAG operations. ManageEngine Exchange Reporter Plus has developed DAG Monitoring Reports to provide insights on DAGs.
The monitoring tool uses Windows PowerShell commandlets to fetch data on DAG replication. The reporting program gathers this data and determines database replication health by listing the check name for each operation, related to replication. It also displays the success or failure status of the operation and, in case of failure, the relevant error involved.
Users can select the reporting period and view the replication health reports for tracking, analyzing, and addressing any errors.
This report returns the copy status of each database in various locations within the Exchange environment. It uses the “Get-MailboxDatabaseCopyStatus” commandlet to fetch data for each database such as copy name, copy status, copy time, and more.
With DAG Monitoring Reports, admins can now analyze DAG operations vigilantly to ensure a better recovery mechanism for the server. The reports are configurable in Exchange 2010 and 2013 environments. They can also be exported to a destination folder and even emailed in desired formats for compiling records.
