Many exchange admins find it tiresome to manage the large number of mobile devices associated with their organization. Policies such as bring your own device (BYOD) have encouraged employees to use their personal smart devices to ensure extensive online availability. Now, the introduction of Microsoft Microsoft 365 has driven the usage of smart devices even further. Therefore, admins today are being strangled by PowerShell scripts, CSV files, and Excel spread sheets to be able to micromanage each device configured with Microsoft 365.
Thankfully, ManageEngine Exchange Reporter Plus has come to the rescue with Microsoft 365 ActiveSync Reports. Admins no longer have to trace among the maze of users, Microsoft 365 mailboxes, and related policies. The web-based reporting tool maps smartphones with their corresponding mailboxes and policies and then returns a comprehensive set of reports that provide actionable information about ActiveSync devices.
Report on and audit Exchange Online using Exchange Reporter Plus.
This report provides details that can help track specific devices in case of security threats or breaches. It lists all the mobile devices that are synced with their respective Microsoft 365 mailboxes. This tabular representation of the data provides information including device name, corresponding user name, device IMEI number, operating system, time of first synchronization, last successful synchronization, and more.
This report displays the current policy that is applied to each mobile device and the time it was applied. The report also provides the extent of policy applied in a separate column called Policy Application Status, which shows whether the policy is applied in full or in part.
This report primarily displays the client type (EAS or MOWA) for each synchronized mobile device. Additionally, it shows the client version and access state.
Devices may go inactive after a certain duration, which can be configured by the admin. However, space and security reasons make it important to get details of those devices that have turned stale and eliminate or reinstate them. This report generates a list of all inactive mobile devices that were once configured with Microsoft 365 accounts.
With Microsoft 365 ActiveSync reports, administrators gain a sophisticated reporting mechanism that keeps them well-informed about mobile devices synchronized with Exchange Server. Running endless query scripts on Windows PowerShell is no longer necessary to find relevant data on ActiveSync devices and policies. These reports can also be exported to a desired destination folder or even emailed in formats such as CSV, PDF, XLS, and HTML.
